At last I have acceess to some nice wheat fields. Would appreciate some advice from those with experience. When is the best time to decoy? I see pigeon flying over but they dont seem to come down to the crop. Will they likely be decoyed and if so, will it suffice to just stick my standard deecoys on bamboo poles or will I need to fork out for whirling things?? All tips and advice welcome. Cheers

if a flat patch being hit near edge of field then can be v productive.Mini bamboo sticks up the jacksie and a flapper are ideal.just be careful not to damage the crop more than the pigeons would! around here at mo v little flat patches but the pigeons are landing and balancing on the crop!...having fun on the flightlines at the mo but it will best just after harvest...then decoying can be v v good.

Once harvested just use shell decoys and once you've got a few put them out mix of cradles and kebab sticks up under the chin to have a few heads up.
