New plastered wall.

It doesnt have to be 50/50,buy a cheap white matt emulsion and dilute with 10% water,idea is it penetrates into plaster,so if you can see through it without a layer built up then its job done.Always used to do 50/50 but its way to thin and makes a mess of everything.

Alternative methods are,buy bare plaster sealer or 5/1 pva.

You would be surprised how many don't bother with a mist coat first.

I did just this, and the first coat penetrated well into the plaster. I'm going to leave it a few days before applying a 'proper' coat.

I did just this, and the first coat penetrated well into the plaster. I'm going to leave it a few days before applying a 'proper' coat.

Plasterer starts at our place tomorrow....should be done in a week. Then I'm away for ten days so lots of time to dry out 😄 Joiners in after the plasterer to fit new skirting, doors and frames and build me a cupboard. Sparky next Friday for new sockets. Hopefully ready to decorate when I get back then I'll need another holiday
