Filling/packing out the butt of a Synthetic rifle stock

I've been trying to come up with a method of filling a hollow synthetic rifle stock I have.

Thought of the obvious 'Expanding Foam' but this stuff is messy and very light once cured so no weight benefit.

However, today I have the answer....

Cable Jointing Kit Resin.

We sell this at work, It comes in handy 250ml, 450ml, 750ml and 1L pouches. It's a 2 part compound that you mix via removing the seperator. Mixx well then just pour into the stock.

It fills all the gaps as it is a thick liquid.

Once set it goes very hard and has a good weight to it.

So just a heads up in case anyone is in same position.

Only cost me £3 too.

RESULT.

I have a nice little cheap Mossberg 817 .17hmr. The stock was hollow and very very light! so I don't mind having a little mess as it only cost me £75 lol.

No mess at all!

this stuff doesn't expand either so once in, sets within an hour or so and job done.

Doesn't feel like a tooth-pic now.

My Stock took about 400ml.

I took action out of stock, filled the void in the back with water and then poured water into a measuring jug to get an approx volume. (saves waste)
