What's in fashion at the moment

Recommended Posts

Just got five minutes to myself sitting here with a cup of coffee thinking. Well to cut a long story short the wife has been hinting that she would like a dog, from past experience I know that dogs can be a bit of A fashion so was wondering what the in thing is at the moment as she hasn't said exactly what she wants yet but I know it's coming. So what dog does your other half have for House/ lap dog. sf1

No not really sometimes you just have to do things to keep The wife happy. anyway it's supposed to be her dog Lol

I'd love a dog as fully retired in October, but it's the bag of do dah thing I can't handle.Love one of those little white dogs with the round face.I think it has poodle in it.There is an old couple got one who pop in a cafe I frequent most morning.Lovely little thing it is. Edited by Davyo

I have a springer spaniel .

And my wife and i take alternate days during the week to look after him .

Fabulous dog .

I dont know what your looking for .dog wise .

I have two Cocker spaniels which are my dogs although the wife absolutely adores these I think she would just like something of her own. So what ever she picks would have to get on with the spaniels

We've got two mini dachshunds. A rescue smooth hair & a wire haired we got as a pup.

Brilliant personalities...friendly & laid back and take up next to no room.

The wire haired don't shed so good for people with allergies. ...though the smooth haired seems to have this trait too. (Compared to my old Parson)

Smooth haired has very silky feel to him, like stroking a rabbit. He loves carrots too.

....hang on a minute! ;)

Lots of local Facebook groups for socialisation walks & events.

When you've gone Dachs you don't go back....

it's quite easy when you get into the swing of things mine do most of their business in the garden it gets picked up on the shovel and dispose of so pretty much when you take them out you don't have a lot to deal with Although it does happen as they say Lol

Her newish toy is a miniture schnauzer . Seems to be down the hairdressers quite a bit but it gets on well with the cockers and it's got some entertainment value .

yes I quite like the schnauzer to. I wonder maybe a bit of prompting in that direction But at the end of the day it's the wife's decision

I've got a new lab due soon, she's still on mum at the mo.

I can however not recommend a patterdale, my old lad is due to be put to sleep soon, so he's not too much bother, but by God in his prime....

He has free range of the farm, he was like a nuclear weapon, he'd stay in a barn until it was void of all known life, did holes in the middle of the garden lawn because he'd heard a worm, start fights with anything, other dogs, the bull, the ram, anything was fair game to him.

I'll second that, we've got one here and the girlfriend and her mum breed them.

Fantastic little dogs to have around, happy to walk miles or sleep all day. Theres currently 8 at the girlfriends parents ( 3 will be going back to their homes soon! ) If you sit on the floor they all try climb on for a fuss!
