Stainless Steel Marlin in 38/357

Hi,

I've owned one of the above (from the Remington factory) with no issues, loading and ejecting flawlessly and always gaining admiring glances at the range.

It's come to the time where I will probably let it go to fund another purchase and have been offered a wide range of values some of which could be deemed eye-watering when compared to the standard models.

Marlins generally now seem to be commanding strong resale values and whilst there's part of me that wants to see a new owner get themselves a good deal and enjoy it's use, I don't want to be kicking myself all the way to the RFD.

Does anyone have any first-hand experience on recent sales of a stainless Marlin in 38/357 calibre - the wood's clean and it performs well with factory as well as home loads through the Skinner peep sight I bought for it.

Thanks in advance.

Seem to recall my mate paying about £1300 for his top spec. tuned stainless Marlin from SYSS - he thought that was a bargain

I'd just check the new prices & use those to guide 2nd-hand re-sale values.

It's been known for less common & discontinued models to actually go up in price on the used market.
