Asda Clothes Poles

I bought a couple of clothes poles from Asda, and they seem very sturdy. They extend from 4 and a half feet to about 8 and a half feet. For £3.50p each they will do the job.

Yes, I recently got six from Aldi, similar price and fitted some kickers made from 25 mill box section, just cut to four inches, drilled a hole same size as pole at one end and slid it up pole about 10 inches and a couple of sturdy pop rivets either side job done.

I used to use these a few years ago. I cut some wedges of wood, drilled holes into them, just slightly bigger than the poles, and, after pressing the wedges into the ground, inserted the poles into them.

You dont need to cut any wood. The inner metal tube is your ground spike.

Remove from outer tube chop 9 inchs off cut at angle

 

Remove bottom black stop slide 9 inch tube in drill 2 holes. 6mm and fit nuts and bolts

True, but I preferred wooden wedges, especially in very soft ground, as they held the poles securely. Also good when the ground was hard too.
