stock finishing

right then , been applying alkanet oil once a day, when i get the desired affect, whats best to finnish it of, ie blo or wax or what??, cheers ray

 

 

im no stock finisher....once you have got colour into it....then feed the wood bit by bit with boiled linseed oil.(few drops at a time)...........its a looonnng old process but it will be worth it at the end of the day and the wood will bloom and look alive..........

 

its your choice tho'

Stock oil contain more than just oil for a reason it enhances the contrast of the grain it also adds to the strength and waterproofness of the finish.

 

BLO was used on military rifles for years its fine it work but it's not as nice as it could be.
