saddler
And the BBC reporter from Tokyo states that "this is the first time in living memory that an air raid siren has sounded over Japan for real and people have had to take to their shelters" Ya reckon?? Wot a bell end

saddler
Godzilla will step in & calm it all down. Better than the "Corbyn Plan B" & a more realistic outcome* Plan B = send Dianne Abbott to handle the negotiations
panoma1
Godzilla will step in & calm it all down. Better than the "Corbyn Plan B" & a more realistic outcome* Don't you mean plan A? Our newly elected PM Jeremy Corbin orders us to unilaterally disarm and invites the North Koreans to tea with the queen? On the supposition that surely no one will invade us......if we have no defence..........and we're nice to em? Plan B = send Dianne Abbott to handle the negotiations

I am VERY surprised that nobody has reacted to this as being an open declaration of war being declared. No doubt the Japanese have had their strings pulled...as the JDF operate on very tight reins. The fact that the 1950-53 Korean War is still active should not to be lightly dismissed - they only declared a temporary ceasefire in 53, not a cessation of hostilities. See also https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korean_conflict This may get very interesting very quickly!!
Hamster
Why would Nk want to nuke Japan or start a war with them ? It all has the usual smell of contrived news, keep the bogey man in peoples consciousness and keep everyone scared. Are you telling us that America and its "allies" don't routinely test and develop missiles ? Why shouldn't NK do so when faced with such hostility and sanctions. Either nobody tests and develops missiles or you suck it up and smile when others do it.
Scully
Scary times indeed. I just don't understand what NK expect to happen if they continue down this path. owain
I don't blame the lad for wanting nukes. Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan didn't, and look what happend to them. Has anybody actually taken the time to sit down with the loony and ask just what it is he wants? Strange why we never hear the NK side of things , what he wants (and he is no loon) is for NK to not be surrounded by hostile US forces, believe it or not there are plenty of South Koreans who despise what the US has brought on to them but you won't ever see that on telly. Not sure we test by firing over other countries though. Oh no it's much worse than that, remember the thousands displaced by illegal nuke testing by the West ? Who needs to test fire missiles when you can just illegally drop them on 6 countries simultaneously, nothing beats real life testing on humans. He probably finds it ironic being told he cant have nukes by blokes with nukes, I know I would. Correct, Western hypocrisy at its best. I don't blame the lad for wanting nukes. Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan didn't, and look what happend to them. If you don't want America to start messing with your country, you need a nuke. Simple as that. Correct, if your country had already been destroyed once by the lovely US you sure ain't gonna let it happen a second time.

bear-uk
I'm surprised that the mighty US of A did not show there fire power and shoot the missile down before it got anywhere near Japan. Hamster
One has to think do the US knock it down missiles actually work or is it all talk. Patriot type systems DO work but like everything else they're not perfect and besides, modern day missiles have anti-anti missile tech and radar jamming incorporated, the latest NK one is said to have been 300 miles high over Japan so beyond reach and since it was already declared they were going to throw them around for testing the act of shooting it down would itself be confrontational. There is much more to this than meets the eye, credible people have stated that the random and sudden rise of so called "accidental" carrier collisions are a ruse by the US to pre-create a ready made false flag that can be blamed on a given party as and when the "cause" is found. If they can't detect a 400 meter steel tanker travelling at 22 mph with engines that can be heard from 100 miles away how do they think they'll fare with hypersonic missiles which split into multiple warheads when in range ? US missile defence shield (can't remember its code name) is based in the USA. The control radar and interceptors are based on the mainland US, so there is no way they could have been used here. The 7th fleet incompetence is just that - incompetence. The destroyer collisions are a throwback to the USN of the late 70s / early 80s. I was reading that staff cut-backs have lead to watch training being compressed to pretty much 'look at this DVD' and the number of staff on watch being cut down to a handful. You'll get accidents under this situation. Less people and a reduction in their skills. If the US wanted a pretext to start something with North Korea, they don't need to start crashing their ships. They just have something 'happen' near the border.
