So why the opposition?And the answer to that is that either the ban was based on opposition to class rather than animal welfare, or that the antis believe that trail hunting is just an excuse to get horse and hound into the field where a 'live' hunt can accidentally take place. It is class based, many people hear the word "hunting" and incorrectly imagine it is only conducted by people of substantial financial means, because of that there is an element of hatred and as usual they go no further to see if there really is any cruelty. These votes often get passed because the vast majority of ordinary decent thinking folk simply don't bother - so the motivated minorities get their way.
