Bait point question

Couple of months ago, fox gets into chicken coop and kills the 3 hens of my friends 9 year old on their farm.

They were replaced by another 7 hens who have been laying well. Yesterday Mr or Mrs fox takes 1 at about 3pm and decides to tuck in about 60 yds from farmyard then heads off to a little spinney trailing a few feathers along the way.

I have scattered some cheap dog food around where it entered the spinney and there is an ideal little natural hide about 75 yds away. Tomorrow I will put a camera there. All this is about 100 yds from where car will be parked so no walking as such.

Q - how long do you reckon it takes for said fox to use the bait point regularly ?

Foxes are wild animals and you can never be SURE about their habits, so there is no real answer to your question.

The fact is they are clever, opportunist and territorial, and they learn fast, so if your bait is on his route he will almost certainly take advantage, but as others have said his first priority may just be your existing Take Away!

Doesn't sound as though he should be too much of a problem to deal with just the same!

:good:
