Hi gents, anyone have much knowledge about using sodium carbonate and electrolysis to remove rust?

I saw some stuff on faceache about laser removal but no one does it round my neck of the woods, the machines cost thousands so I was wondering if this was a viable alternative. cheers for any help.

I'm giving this a go on some bits next weekend.

cheers chaps, as much as I fancy making a new collector box, the chances that it'll end up looking anything like the idea in my head are slim, sodium carb is on its way, I have a bucket and battery charger to hand, wish me luck
