Watching the wright stuff? Channel 5 this morning and they had a guy on the phone and were asking him why is it that any escaped animal seems to get shot and not recaptured, the guys job was capturing animals, he said the only person who did their job correctly with the escaped lynx was the fella who shot it, on £800 a day they said!!

Disgraceful set of affairs. And £800 a day! Really. Should have recaptured them both and given better welfare when they did. Yes it does make you wonder why if and when they are reintroduced, the cats won't be considered dangerous then. Will they be tame ones that someone feeds every day and hill walker's can stroke.

Maybe safe after having teeth and claws removed?

£800.00 per day isn't much if you only get to shoot one every blue moon:rolleyes:

They made out he was there for a few days ready if needed, yes not steady income but still.

it certainly doesn't bide well for re introducing does it if after a couple if days panic sets in and they shoot them, probably thinking its ok we'll stick them up in the highlands of Scotland somewhere out the way!!
