Can the knowledgeable folk on here help, I’m looking for 8 mm stainless steel locking washers that have spiky bits sticking out of them.

I don’t know the name of them. They have little spikes that have been torn up out of the surface of the washer to bite into the nut or bolt head and the surface your fastening to.

They are not star washers or serrated or taper wedge locking or spring washers.

i have searched online but can’t find them or a picture of them, yet they were quite common anti vibration washers on cars a decade ago.

Thanks so far lads for the suggestions, but in my post I did say what they are not.

Not serrated or star washers same as tooth washers, not taper wedge washers also not a spring washer or a crinkly washer.  These seem the only ones that come up in a search.

Nearest I can describe is they are made as a standard flat washer then turned against something with sharp teeth to tear up some spikes and hardened so that they will bite into the mating faces.

Have a look through this lot. They mght be there.

Could be locking fan washers.

unfortunatly none of the digestion’s and links are to the right washer.

The washer I’m looking for looks just like a standard washer with no teeth along the inside or outside edges or no twisted bits of metal.  What it has is little sharp spikes sticking up out the flat faces of the washer. Nearest I can describe is imagine the first 1/4 of a milimeter of the point of a sharp tack or pin sticking up from the surface face of the washer but lots of them sticking out to bite into the steel to stop it coming undone. When you do undo one it leaves what looks like a record cut into the nut and the metal face.
