suburban shooter Posted February 22, 2018 Report Share Posted February 22, 2018 When my son was a toddler Nana would take him to a local park with a small fishing lake in it so that he could watch the men fishing and feed the ducks. Sometimes there was a heron that would stand on the opposite bank to the people and do his own fishing. My son was fascinated with the heron. One day when he was five he walked around the lake/pond and got within 20ft of the heron and lay down to watch it. He then spent an hour crawling up to the bird with the fishermen and Nana all saying that the heron would soon fly off . My son got so close that he stretched his arm out and stroked the back of the heron and then crawled back in reverse. The bird just looked at him and then turned round back to his fishing. Not a shooting story but certainly one of appreciating wildlife and fieldcraft. As always a cracking shot you have taken GG thanks for sharing.
