I saw,,,and heard Mansell in the Williams Honda at Brands Hatch at the European GP. As he came onto the start/finish straight and gunned it,,,,,time stopped and there was only noise. Black lines on the track and  black smoke from the motor as the fiendish Honda engine laughed at Eco anything and blasted its way forward. Its a wound that has never healed !

The v10 BMW Montoya drove in F1 that howl when they turned the engine up for qualifying.  The older rally cars with big turbos and anti-lag popping and snarling through a stage. I also like the big turbo diesels like the caterpillas fitted to big earth movers etc.

All totally awesome. You've got to love man's pursuit of greater and more powerful engines. I was lucky to see 6R4 Metro, Audi Quattro, Porsche 911, Beetle 4 wheel drive turbo etc all on a part tarmac part dirt track at Brands Hatch back in the 80s and 90s and participated  my self in drag racing at similar times, in a 1600cc beetle that would rev to 10,500 rpm. Seen and heard some amazing creations. For an odd sound, the world's fastest electric Beetle is hard to beat, just tyres on a sticky track and a whoosh. Such a shame it got wrecked.
