catchthepigeonmutley
Anyone else see this? Fantastic footage of the test launch and return to earth of the 2 booster rockets. news.sky.com/story/live-falcon-heavy-countdown-to-launch-for-giant-spacex-rocket-11239163
7daysinaweek
Amazing just watched it, it got up to the 15,000 mph mark and imaging spectacular, then they come back to earth and land themselves. Awsome! Fast forward to around 27 min mark to watch the launch if you cannot wait. Thanks for the heads up CTPM
buze
I was glued to the stream. Had the audio at the start thru the lounge amplifier too. That footage of the two boosters landing together is ... history to me. Most perfect 10 seconds of space footage in the last 20 years. It's very likely they lost the center core (missed the barge) but hell, the boosters landing in sync!
Zapp
They were an excitable bunch. Very cool. I'm glad that space launch technology is starting to move away from being a government-only enterprise with all the attendant stop-start based on political climate etc.
Jaymo
It’s to me absolutely ( swear words ) amazing - yes I know that rocket tech put people object and even a few monkeys into space, but this is something else. As Zapp mentioned, the investment and intentions of a Private ‘enterprise’ ( like the space ref) is something else beyond what Governments intend. The public scrutiny of such a launch too, really shows some confidence and abilities of all those involved- makes Britain’s ‘Virgin Gallactic’ really look like the garden shed project that it is ( ok, so different design intentions and utilisation) Really was a shame that the drone ship didn’t receive its intended ‘cargo’ , but when the video feed cut I had the feeling this was the case- however the synchronised landing of the two side pods was mightily impressive. Can you imagine the amusement/ bewilderment of future Space travellers to see a Tesla Roadster floating past :-)
MirokuMK70
It was truly amazing. But did no-one else think of this and snigger to themselves...?

rimfire4969
It was incredible, the landing of the two boosters was like proper space stuff.
Twistedsanity
i think its funny, all those people driving round in electric teslas to reduce their c02 output and then the boss decides to completely undo their good planet saving work by sending a huge rocket up so he can watch a car orbit the earth
