Heads up! DVLA have dropped the £2.50 credit card charge for Car Tax

Just taxed the Scooby from March 1 - and they've dropped the (previously very annoying) £2.50 credit card charge. 

Must the the new (Government?) ruling coming in to force?

For those taxing vehicles this month please note the DVLA site still shows the card charge - but it is not added at the end.

Result!

Sounds like a crafty ploy to discourage people from using credit charges whilst observing the rules.

You are not alloweded to be surcharged when you use your credit cards. As so now making it unlawful for retailers to do so. New rules came into force at beginning of year
