Got a call from one of my permissions saying there were a lot of birds on the lower field.

Well as this morning looked good weather wise l was up early and out by 9 o/clock, 'twas cold all the way there but on arrival a cup of tea and chocolate biscuits were offered and consumed, we both had things to do and after a chat l set off to set up.

Plenty of pigeon showing on the field so l set up and settled in for a busy morning, did they return, been nice if they did.

First off two cock pheasant walk past, hmm must have their calendar out, next up flock of red partridges, must be mates with the pheasants this is not looking good and then a massive flock coming into the decoys, omg lapwings! 100's of them, Jesus we had this last year when they did the same thing and l couldn't distinguish between pigeons and lapwings and packed up and went home.

Well l stuck it out for a couple of hours got some high birds coming in "pigeons" and then it stopped, nothing, siltch, not a thing flying not even a bloody cloud.

Home early and SWMBO was so stunned l got a shopping list presented to me, ah well you win some you loose some.

Hopefully next week will be better, couldn't be any worse.

Pigeon shooting, who needs it?

PS?
