Got a text last week saying it was from DVLA saying they had been trying to get hold of me & this was my last reminder that i was due a refund for road tax & follow this link. No i don't think so. Then this morning swmbo  asked if the car tax was due as she just got a text she's never tax'd a car in her life, told her it was a scam & to delete it. Hope no one has been done.

Similar to one I keep getting on a spare email address I hardly use, from HMRC supposedly, saying I am due several hundred pounds refund and follow link etc.

No thanks.

I've had two of these recently. Here's the address they need forwarding to - phishing @ hmrc.gsi.gov.uk (spaced so it wont work as a link)

I received a scam/threat by email just the other day, it went along the lines of…....hello dear friend, I am very good with computers, I know you have been watching pornography on your PC because the link you clicked on to watch a porn video was infected with a virus, this allowed me to turn on your monitor camera, I have recorded you watching porn, all I ask is $350 and I will destroy the video, if I do not hear from you within 24 hours I will put the video on the internet for your wife and friends to see.

I have not paid him as I don’t have a camera on my computer monitor….phew.

I got caught with a BT one saying your bill is ready to view , in my defence it was the right time for my bill, I ended up going back to a paper bill with them once a month now because BT pass you from piller to post when you want to change pass words and then they still don't do it.

Thanks for the tip.
