Yes, paradoxically the boom years came under Obama when Americans feared anti gun legislation and stocked up. Now with President Trump that impetus has disappeared and sales have diminished. In Remington's case they failed to move with the times and develop new products. It doesn't look good for them.

That's news to me, and if true, which seems likely, is more than unfortunate! 

They have been through the grind for a long time though, so perhaps this really is the end...but I'm sure someone will step in and do something/buy them....but I haven't a clue who that may be!
