BASC Training Courses

Recommended Posts

Just as alway there is nothing within a sensible traveling distance  from us. Live in North Bucks but you think we where on some distant island with Basc. We are at the very remotest edge of three Basc regions so therefore we never get anything near us,most of our regions events are south coast at over 120 away

Unfortunately there is not enough demand to hold courses in every local town. There is a link on our training pages of our website where you can register your interest in particular courses https://basc.org.uk/sporting-services/basc-training-courses/. This is reviewed every year to help us guide where we put on courses. So go onto the page and register your interest. Otherwise you will be looking at an hour or so drive.

I am sorry that you will have to drive so far.

Many thanks, Peter

I don't think members expect events in their own towns, but members like me on the edge of several regions should expect some within a reasonable distance. The south east region events all appear south of London so most events would be two to three hours drive.

If you do not put on events in the outer reaches of area how do you know how popular they will be. You say it is reviewed every year but it is a chicken and egg situation, on events equal no interest.

We had a syndicate membership on our shoot but the members decided to stop it and everybody joined other institutions because they felt that they where not getting any support from the regions

The best thing to do is to speak to your regional BASC representatives and let them know that there is demand in a particular area.

The South East Representative is Dan Reynolds on 01244 573028 - Dan has lots of training courses in his region, probably more than any region.

Speak with him and let me know how you get on

Many thanks, Peter

We run courses at Lydney which is 27 miles from Bristol and only 42 min drive according to AA route finder. We run DSC 1 courses at Malmesbury which is 29 miles from Bristol and 39 min drive. There is also Chipping Norton and Cullumpton both of which are less than 70 miles away.

There are also other providers adhering to DMQ standards who may provide a venue closer to you. For instance the BDS run DSc 1 courses in Cirencester which is less than an hour away.

These venues change around, its also worth considering courses which are being held near relatives or friends, which could cut down on the accommodation costs.

Many thanks, Peter

Many thanks, Peter
