Your panties a little bit bunched up are they?

Just what was so disagreeable about my comment that you felt the need to vent?

We live in a democratic country you sometimes just have to live with the fact that some people have a different opinion to you, just live with it, shut up or do one.

As for panties I'm sure that you probably spend lots of time on specialist websites that cater for your interest !

I must remember this and remind you next time you complain about the current government or brexit which IIRC you have done on a n umber of occasions.

Yep that's a valid point well made....... Just decided over the past few days it's time to go and play with the grown ups.

Can somebody please explain the love affair and apparent infatuation that Mr Corbyn and his left leaning associates still have with Russia. Has nobody explained that the socialist utopia that was the USSR has now gone. Russia is now a democratic capitalist society. It even has free and democratic elections where any member of its electorate can vote for any candidate on the ballot paper without fear or favour. Its leader Mr Putin, together with his friends and advisors are multi millionaires. By careful and shrewd investments Mr Putin has become probably the worlds richest man. He has done this in a very short timescale (since the fall of communism) which must make him the most successful business man in history, far outstripping the lefts bogie man Mr Trump. I would of thought if Mr Putin was British then he would be the first in Labours sights.

Free and democratic elections.......................where any candidate who looks a threat to Putin is murdered ? Perhaps we should try that system here?

It's worrying just how facile political discourse has become in this country. If you want to know where Putin is coming from - why not listen to the man himself https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U4MAsIh3zMA in 2007, or again here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q13yzl6k6w0&t=283s in 2015. Sure, it takes a bit of effort to sit through major foreign affairs speeches ( they're not twitter soundbytes) but if you live in a democracy in which you elect your government  it could be argued that it's a duty to actually learn something about the world in which that government is supposed to operate.

Even if you're convinced that Russia is our sworn enemy, take a look at the links. Know your enemy as the saying goes. If you've only got your info from the BBC et al, why not see this demonic Svengali in action. Read the original book kind of style. You might find that they changed the plot a bit before they made the movie for you to watch.

I guess the fact that all those Opposition candidates who oppose Putin  get murdered, or jailed, does not have any bearing on your thought process?

Given the larger political campaign against Putin that has its roots in the links posted above, I don't necessarily believe that he's responsible for all these evil doings laid at his door. But even were that to be the case, as a Brit I don't see Russian domestic politics as being my business. I do however see international nuclear war as being very much my  business.

Incidentally did you bother to watch any of the linked speeches, or are you just ploughing on regardless?

Agree he's a very good speaker, charming and amusing.

However he also ruthlessly removes opposition and maintains rigid control of Russia.  I can listen, but not believe what I hear.

There have been other good speakers in history - and not all have been 'good news'.

Russia is not our 'sworn enemy' at all.  People who use chemical warfare agents freely here in the UK, our sovereign territory to eliminate their enemies who are in effect guests in our country are certainly not 'our friends' and should not (indeed must not) be allowed to get away with such deeds.

Yes, but  why should I believe them? He does not have a great track record, particularly as a democrat, being a former KGB man....................

It's called democracy if you don't like it go and live somewhere else

Its not often you hear the words momentum and democracy used in the same sentence though is it? Unless there is some expression of negativity between the two words.

Such as - Momentum does not "do" democracy.

Read the Communist manifesto, (and I paraphrase) People are stupid, tell them outlandish lies, make outlandish promises and give then slogans to chant. Hitler nicked it almost word for word and included it in Mein Kampf.

I have read both and George Orwell was spot on

As I said they can freely vote for anybody on the ballot paper... getting on the ballot paper - now that is a different matter

No reason to believe them at all. Do the necessary research and find if what he's saying/asserting is true or not. That's what I did, and that's why, fundamentally, I'm pretty much on Russia's side these days. I'd help you by sticking up some links, but to be honest until this latest and, to my mind, dangerous nonsense over the poison gas thing went down, I'd sworn myself off politics as a waste of time. And, like throwing out the fags when you're giving up smoking, I deleted all my instant political argument links.....it was a sad hobby for a while..

But anyway, I'll stand by my notion that in a democracy it;s both a duty and a privilege to actually know what's going on. And that's impossible to do if one relies solely on the mainstream news outlets. One - they have an agenda. Two - the issues are too complex to be reduced into 750 word two column copy, and consequently  become distorted to the point of fiction.

And now I have to go to bed..

Putin is possibly the richest man in the world, such is the level of the corruption he has sponsored and taken a rake off from. However, what good has it done him? He cannot enjoy his wealth and both he and all his family live like total prisoners in constant fear of his growing band of enemies.

The current wave of murders, mostly in Russia but spilling over to here is Putin having to demonstrate he is the toughest of the tough, top dog, king rat etc but its escalating. Its a sign that he is feeling more isolated and more threatened.

He could very well end up dead and if he did his whole family would all go the same way, even the dogs. This is Russia we are talking about

a family friend, who died back in 2010, spent 2 years in a Siberian gulag....he was a 16 year old Pole when he went in....He did not trust the Russians, and I have to say, neither do I. And I do not get my info mainly from mainstream media (although you have to lump Russia Today into that category!),  I do "shop" around!"

Russia is like "the boy who cried wolf" in reverse......despite heavy indications to the contrary they just deny anything and everything, it's hardly surprising no one believes them now!

Thats a very fair point, they do.
But..doesnt every government do that when they get caught out doing something naughty, including our own ?

Point taken, but Russia must be top of the premier league tables by a country mile, when it comes to being suspected of pushing acceptable boundaries (often breaking them!) protecting their friends (for example, Assad) via their veto in the UN and by "doing something naughty"?

If it wasnt for the opposing loons in the Whitehouse and Kremlin ,1 a ruthless gangster consolidating his power through murder ,violence and fear and the other a ruthless gangster sacking any<every>one who disagrees with him and uses social media to preach how wonderful he is and how bad they are this would be a bad film plot.

2 of the most powerful men in the world and about as trustworthy as fox in a hen house. We are bit players on the world scene now due to all the cuts and "savings" to our once much larger armed forces. That,s the kicker Russia has no fear of Britain and dont hold your breathe for NATO,S help if it goes wrong as Trump is an isolationist

Russia is demanding proof? I thought the usual procedure was for those under suspicion to explain how they didn't /couldn't have done it? It is not up to the accusers to prove they did it, at this stage!.........That would be decided later in an independant court/tribuneral!

But to just deny it and not comment makes it difficult to give them the benefit of the doubt!
