the hitman
Hi Folks i have been very impressed with LA Jocker 28g no 7 cartridges, and not just the price. I have been using them for decoying pigeons and roosting and find that they kill very cleanly indeed. I have done some research and was interested to find that the shot used is reclaimed from clay shooting grounds and therefore is recycled from more expensive cartridges. I am not wised sufficiently on the process of reclaiming lead shot but it must keep the cost down. is anyone else using these cartridges and what are your thoughts? Regards Hitman
getthegat
Not used them, but the process of collecting old lead shot intrigues me. How is that done I wonder? A lead magnet perhaps. Someone with a big net catching the fallout ?
GingerCat
I've used them and liked them also. As a UK 7 they were plenty good enough for pigeons and at £40 a slab cheap too. Did you buy them recently? I'e not seen them for a while
motty
I have shot plenty of pigeons with them. Being a size 7, of course they kill pigeons well. I can still get them from a couple of places, though at a slightly higher price than a few months ago.
deershooter
My local clay ground had a team in from Italy to reclaim the lead shot. The first foot of soil is removed put brought a diesel fired dryer, then in to a tumbler ( trammel ) where the lead shot is separated from the soil . I think they got around 150 ton of lead in a couple of months . Edited March 28, 2018 by deershooter
the hitman
Gingercat I bought 1000 from Bywell shooting ground about a month ago, and I think they were almost sold out. they did mention that they wouldn’t be getting any more. Hitman My local ground had them and when I last went a few months prior to Xmas they were all out and not getting any more. Shame as for 40 quid they did the job well.
