Have a look at mitton hall systems or km engineering if you can afford them. If you buy wood it is worth putting aluminium angle on every corner if you can. Fortunately I have moved to a house with a block and tin shed I have adapted but the wooden sleeping boxes are slowly being shredded. I’d love to have room to have a block kennel, maybe in the future I’m actually on the Mitton Hall website already although their pictures suck and they don’t show the sizes very well of each version. Other way round it is to buy the kennel run panels and a separate sleeping box. Dog run panels do a good range and you can make up to the size you can squeeze in on a flagged base. You do not need a roof if you build or buy a good waterproof kennel box. This was the way I did it for 30 odd years till I moved here. I would though recommend some sort of drainage. I was going to put the kennel on top of some slabs that are already down Not sure I can advise as it depends on size of run, soil type etc. I can only say that I have a 10 ft square run with plastic channel drainage and metal grid along the front where the surface fallls to. At the end is a trap and then a pipe running to a soakaway of about 4ft by 2 feet by 3 feet deep which h is about 12 feet away . It is filled with 2 inch gravel. This is enough to take surface water and a quick sluice down. Obviously all solids are shovelled up and binned. I will pm you a photo. itchy trigger Posted April 2, 2018 Report Share Posted April 2, 2018 (edited) I recently got a kennel from these people, https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/106-x-6-Pent-Dog-Kennel-with-Galvanised-Gate-Pressure-Treated-Wall-Claddings/323166503721?hash=item4b3e398329:g:y7MAAOSwP4ZZ2Kip lads that delivered and erected it were excellent, had the stable door option, panels are screwed together, everyone who has looked at it has said how good it is, I have given it one coat of ducks back up to now, will give it a couple more coats in the better weather. just had it put on a concrete slab where an old shed was, you should not need a soakaway if you take the dogs out, when I had my two springers I used to walk them first thing, 5am, before going to work, then again when I got home, 6pm, very, very seldom soiled in the kennel Edited April 2, 2018 by itchy trigger soakaway Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
