getthegat
Seen my first swallows a couple days ago, near Ashingdon Essex. Great to see them. Oh and I saw a bat buzzing round our house one evening about a month ago. Edited April 25, 2018 by getthegat Added words
Mice!
Finally, on a very wet drive home stuck at temporary traffic lights i saw 5 swallows playing about like kites in the wind and rain, then resting on the telephone wires, between Blackpool and Preston. Yellow Bear
Not a sign of them yet where we are in NE Derbyshire, however I did see something I could not readily identify a couple of days ago but they were into a wood before I could grab some bins. I thought at first Cuckoo but there were 3 squabbling with an unusual Churring call so have come to the conclusion they may have been Nightjar. Have not heard the call of either under normal conditions this year and have not even heard a nightjar for years.

alan barrett
After seeing my first swallows on 7th April, I've only seen odd ones passing through up until today, when I saw 3/4 going in and out of the stables where they usually nest. A light passage of swallows passing west along the N Norfolk coast yesterday for several hours. No big numbers yet though and yet to see a swift. chrisjpainter
The martins that nested on our house last year turned up for a couple of days then ******** off. I think they may have abandoned the nest and I haven't seen hide nor hair of any others. Swifts back soon I hopes
