Not a sign of them yet where we are in NE Derbyshire, however I did see something I could not readily identify a couple of days ago but they were into a wood before I could grab some  bins.

I thought at first Cuckoo but there were 3 squabbling with an unusual Churring call so have come to the conclusion they may have been Nightjar.  Have not heard the call of either under normal conditions  this year and have not even heard a nightjar for years.

Saw my first House martins on April 20th and after the first swallow sighting on the 6th more on the 13th. 20th and almost daily for the last week. A light passage of swallows passing west along the N Norfolk coast yesterday for several hours. No big numbers yet though and yet to see a swift.
