guzzicat
I just heard on news One alcoholic drink a day can shorten my life! It seems should have died in 1999.
old'un
I’m working on the theory that alcohol preserves my body, so I should live to about
Benthejockey
So can getting hit by a bus. Actually getting hit by a bus makes drinking look good for you. Statistics are what you make of them.

walshie
It's amazing how they change these stories because of new studies. Soon we'll find we shouldn't have been eating chicken breast and salad, but red meat and sugar is the key to a long life. Last year they said alcohol in small quantities was good for you. Now the opposite. I'm sticking with last years study.

clakk
Statistics are a way of making people believe what you want so you can make them do as theyre told or just believe your carp you want to peddle, unless its aimed at cynical people ie 90% of the P.W massive

Wingman
I thought they said only recently that wine (in moderation) was good for you?? Something is going to get you so I would rather enjoy what I like rather than worrying about it...
Vince Green
So if you give up drinking you get to spend an extra few years totally ga ga, sitting in a nappy dribbling in some grotty care home? Run that one by me again, I don't think I understood how that is better?

Walker570
As I put down my nightly double errr no probably treble and water ...Morrisons best Glen Stag... a very nice drinking whisky at a sensible price... I believe there are some people out there who will believe anything ...saw where one UK idot believed the UK had dropped the chemical bomb on Syria. So they are going to take this last warning literally. I was going to say I feel sorrow for them .... BUT ....SIP!! ...I don't.
Dougy
Didnt they say that you should drink more water, and now, they say that the water that they told you was good for you, now turns out to contain toxic plastics. Oh and if you drank it from your taps and live in pre 1970's house you've probably been topping up the lead contents in your body.
Retsdon
Life's too short to drink rubbishy wine.

Smokersmith
The report stated something like ... more than 5 drinks a week can take 6 months off your life ... We were in the car at the time, and the wife and I both exclaimed 'bring it on!!' .... 79, or 79.5 won't make that much difference to me!! Live for the moment !! Wooder
Now I dont know what to do!! I live in a house built in the 1800s, plastic contaminates in bottled water, what water do I now use to make my homebrew!
SpringDon
Is that 6 months off lifespan for each week 5 drinks are consumed or 6 months no matter how many weeks the limit is breached? if it’s the first one, I’m on borrowed time.
