For a while I have been thinking about buying a semi auto just for the pigeon and crow's, yesterday I picked up a tidy winchester 1500 xtr for fifty notes with the chokes and gun slip.

It is in very good condition for its age and works a treat just need to get used to it any one else use one.

I’ve had one for years and won’t part with it.

It only has two minor faults; the first being that it sometimes jams if I mix and match cartridges. It doesnt matter what cartridges I put through it as long as I don’t mix and match.

The second ( not really a fault ) is a thin serated trigger, which can tend to rub after a few hundred cartridges from a hide. I bought a rubber shoe for mine.

I have original Winchokes in mine but Teague make stainless aftermarket ones which fit any of the Winchester shotguns that take Winchokes.....101’s , Diamond Grades, 1300, 1500 etc etc , if you struggle to find originals.

I use Full in mine for decoying,  and shot my first three for three ( emptied the gun ) with this gun. Fabulous bits of kit. Have fun. ?

For £50 all working it has to be a bargain. Good luck and enjoy.

I want to get myself an old Auto 5

Yes, a bargain. Mine was over 300.

I have toyed with the idea of an old A5 for some time. Skipton Gun room had a very nice FN model complete with a Cutts compensator some time ago, but that long thumping recoil puts me off. I would however ( having owned one )  give the right Browning 2000 some serious consideration. Very good guns.

I think the Belgian ones are most sought after. There is something special about an old auto (when it works of course) :)
