Almost all of the Spanish imports came with full and half choke, but it was never intended that they be shot with that combination. One of the resons they were so popular with the trade was that the first thing a new purchaser did was to have the chokes opened out to those of your choice since the degree of choke they came with was generally regarded as way too tight. A quick job for the resident gunsmith that all shops had back in the day and a tidy additional profit for the retailer.

Setting up a gun for a customer was all part of the job . Checking on fit and to suggesting what choke boring would be best . That was in the days when selling guns to people was selling what they wanted or needed .

What was the name of that Olympic trap medallist who used a high rib sxs? Now that was a challenging gun to find attractive but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I don't find Landy's attractive but they're very good at what they do.

Too true!
