Nature notes and a bit of fun.

We saw the weather forecast for early morning today and there was only one thing for it - head for the beach. Clodhopper told us about Theddlethorpe, lots of sand dunes and interesting flora and fauna so that's where we went.

Straight out of the car and we heard the first Cuckoo of the year, then lots of swallows and Chiffchaffs and further along the beach Meadow pipits and Skylarks. Worryingly there were lots of Corvids - one bush had twelve Magpies in it and the Carrions were everywhere looking for nests. We were there for getting on for two hours and we saw two other people.

A black rabbit.

A woodcock wing. In the last few months along a short stretch of beach I have found a good number of woodcock carcases. It just shows how many are lost on migration if the wind is wrong for them.

Spiders nest with caterpillars.

Scillas

A bit of fun. This was the only structure for miles on that beach and I just had to climb it.

Great shot of Jasper thinking ' What the........!'

Is that a step ladder in the shadow?

He has already formed an opinion of his master which is not repeatable.

No step ladder just some driftwood picked up to help me get up the post. My wife wouldn't help as she said it was a childish thing to do.
