Re-plastering house estimate

Hi everyone

We are looking at buying a house that needs quite a bit of work. It's an old 4 bedroom farmhouse and all the bedrooms are doubles so it's a fair size.

The main job it needs is a full replaster with the old stuff ripped off first. I appreciate it all depends on the size but can someone give me a rough idea of how much this might cost? Plastering is one of the only things I can't do myself!

Many thanks, Tom

depending on the work involved, is it timber lathes and lime plaster? bloody messy job and not going to be cheap. for example, to knock off lime plaster from brickwork, dot and dab new boards, then skim is nearly a weeks work for me, plus disposal of the waste and materials cost i'd estimate £1000 a room

while your at it, maybe strip the heating system out and re wire

Ours was a three double bed, large kitchen and lounge, small utility and one bathroom, took plaster down myself and dabbed up the board s which brought skimming costs down to approx 500 a room on average
