why cant you buy cartridges loose ?

Yes very good. Another idea with .22 ammo was 500 or so loose rounds in a smartie tube type packaging. I liked that, I don't see why I should pay for ten boxes and plastic dividers I would only throw away. The tubes were at least re-usable in the garage.

Mind you when I was young I bought cartridges in boxes of 10

Thought this type of post were against t'rules. I didn't realise Derby was in the North.
