Depends on shape of land trap layout and wind. There is a shot travel list somewhere on pigeon watch. Tells you how far shot sizes will travel.

This and your earlier post are spot on. I was asked to build a range on an existing MoD range. As this was for recreational use only, all projectiles had to remain within the range boundary unlike the formal Service use. From memory, the CPSA spec is a safety distance of 300 yards with No 6 maximum shot size. The range was circa 350 by 500 yards which gives 36 acres and I struggled. If a neighbour pulls the plug  and you''re left with just 22 acres you're going to have a problem right enough.
