We have a large black glass garden table that i the domestic technician just can't seem to get the water marks off... any ideas?

The best glass cleaner I have ever used is called Nilglass.

I use auto smart products like 20/20 and it’s amazing. No smears at all

I specialise in fitting large format gas fires and deal with alot of black glass inside of them along with the glass window with alot of them being tunnels that you can look through into the next room so the glass has to be spotless. I have used most products on the market for cleaning marked glass on services both comercial chemicals and domestic. But personally nothing beats good old ciff!

3m do a mirror cleaning cloth which gets amazing results on glasses and motorcycle helmet visors.

If they are genuine water marks Viacal or Cillit Bang for lime.

But I can reveal a trade secret that has been closely guarded for more years than most of us have been alive. True cleaning professionals (and I have run a big contract cleaning company for over twenty years) use a squirty bottle with just plain water and a drop (no more) of fairy liquid to clean glass. And a dry microfiber to dry it off. 

Now they will probably have to kill me for revealing it

Newspaper screwed up, and rub vigerous the newsprint and pulp combo cleans glass squeaky shiny clean ,any ex service peeps have  used this method .No liquid needed atb

Newspaper and neat white vinegar - then plenty of scrunching up the newspaper and rubbing hard.

Keeps the midges away as well

i used to fit windows and to clean the glass after fitting we had containers of the blue windscreen cleaner that you get from the garage works a treat

It's probably limescale, so us an acid based cleaner, as in acetic not hydrofluoric (that aint going to do any good on glass lol) if you need something a little stronger use so e toilet limescale remover.

+1 ? Mrs H uses nothing else for glass and we have black glass kitchen doors. She also adds a small amount of white vinegar. Streak free glass cleaner. Maybe I should recommend it to the guy that valeted my van last weekend. There were so many streaks on my windscreen I thought he was trying to put 'Go faster' stripes on it.
