there are some seriously skilled people on this forum.............amazing......and loads more i havnt mentioned.........

 

seriously what is it all about ...the British love of sheds and fiddling about making stuff....

Yes.

Why buy something which is not quite what you want, when you can make it or adapt something else to do exactly what you want?

.... and you learn some skills along the way

I made a handful like that then simplified the design and made another handful of the MK 2. Whether I will make another batch, I really don't know, just too many projects and not enough hours. :)

You forgot to mention knife resurrection Ditchy, which everyone now knows you are the Maestro. 'Hiding your light under a bushel' comes to mind.

Not up to the quality of your projects but quite pleased with it really....that chip guard reminds me of the old Mamod steam engines...

The most expensive bit was the decent motor from fleabay, 80mm nylon pulley from fleabay, tap and drill from Chronos.....and the chip guard is from the warming plate of an old Hostess plate warming cabinet.....and an old chopping board.
