Plant identification

Can any of the green fingered pigeon watch members identify the plant/bush in the photo. I bought it years ago and when the dogs were young I came home and they had eaten it. I’d like to buy another one to replace it, and haven’t seen the plant since. If it helps,  in the growing season it had buds, and they opened up to let the new fronds through.

In anticipation

I’m loving your reply’s chaps. And whilst they are all tongue in cheek and I have chuckled at a few. It was a serious question. However I knew that you JDog would be the person who would find a Latin named one ?

My Latin, literally translated, means little fat tailed hairy dog.

I am at a loss however to identify the plant.

Surely from the Greek for "flat" platus, not the Latin for "fat" opimus

Thanks, but there was no choice at my schools - you did French, Latin & a little Greek, and that was that.

I would have rather learned more practical languages such as German, and certainly all my engineering knowledge has been gleaned out of necessity due to my enthusiasm for English motorbikes
