Afternoon peeps. I’ve been to the doctor today about the above and he’s informed me the nhs are stopping the snip and I’ll have to go private.

hes applied for me but says I might have to go private .

Has anyone got any idea on prices ?

Im 36 and 4 kids so I’m not worried about being refused.

Whatever the price, go to a specialist who does lots of them.

My wife's friend's husband went NHS and ended up with testes the size of grapefruit for several weeks.

I went private and was working, without discomfort , the next day.

This was nearly 40 years ago, so the cost would not be relevant to today, but I don't recall it as being very expensive, and it certainly wasn't a ballbreaker

?

it all depends where you live and the hospital you are going to have it done  they are priced from about £600-£2500   i was lucky enough to have mine done about 30 years ago on the nhs and it was one of the best things i did stops all the worry of more children i couldnt afford and it hasnt impacted anything else in life  much better for you to have it done than the mrs  i would give yourself a ballpark figure of a grand  and shop around  i was working the next day as well

Have a quick look on here, seems to be two prices for the Spire hospital at Aston but maybe more definitive if it is for you!

Definitely do it, short term pain for long term gain. 22years ago was just under £300 so prices shown there are about right I guess. Second worse nights pain (total hip replacement is THE worse night post op!) in my life after the anaesthetic wore off for me but 3 days later was back at work..

Get the wife to go to her GP . They can insert an implant in the arm that takes a couple of minutes and is safer than a vasectomy .

harnser

my misses had the implant for years but there can be complications long term.

I had the snip in January, at my local doctors surgery on the NHS, i would describe it as uncomfortable, that's all. It was done under a local anaesthetic and i had the night off work, took it easy for that week.

can't understand how the NHS would stop this, might just be your area?

Don't consider it to be a License to Thrill.  ?

Pricing can be highly variable in private healthcare. Generally going through a branded firm to a particular consultant will tend to be considerably more expensive than going directly to them at local independent clinic room provider.

At a rough stab I would expect one could get down to around £400 but may have to pay for histopathology and any semen analysis on top of that.

Your local agricultural stores will have just the tool.

Pop round I'll do it for you. Just takes a second. Then you can go shooting after.

They will indeed. Burdizzo bull castrator on Ebay  £36, quick, bloodless but not really sure if painless.?
