An honourable politician

I know they are as rare as hen's teeth, but they are even rarer now: Lord (Peter) Carrington has died, aged 99.  First served at Cabinet level for Churchill.

Someone (not me) wrote;  Particularly poignant that Peter Carrington died today. He resigned as Foreign Secretary in 1982 because he took responsibility for the failure to predict the Argentine invasion. A man of principle. A stark contrast to the comedic, self-seeking wastrel who resigned yesterday.
