On my perm there is no laid or failed crop. (Spring barley) however i have a small meadow (about five acres maybe) between two woods. There are quite a few pigeon knocking about as adjacent farm has just cut rape fields.

So, i am thinking of having a bash on this meadow and was wondering do i just set hide up on the hedgeline and shoot em flighting or is it worth decoying with either shells or magnet. (The field has had cattle on recently so its short)

If there is an open topped tree then I would try a lofter or two...or three or four. Pigeons very often want to rest up absorb the food they have eaten before going foraging again. If you have a flightline or any movement then lofted birds will often pull them close. Just my very amateur experience.
