Mungler - my youngest has already propped me to do another car and I have been looking for a part finished car. I would need to strip it and start again, but they are normally fairly complete and a whole lot cheaper, when someone has lost interest. Lotus Super 7 / Westfield / Robin Hood type is my lad's choice.

I fancy putting a CR500 Honda motocross engine in either an aluminium frame or a KTM, but just in process of trying to acquire an engine. The rest is easily obtained.

I will be interested in following this thread, or a new one if it spawns...

Firstly as I built (and raced) a Lotus 7 years ago, from the ground up

Secondly I can't get this 'make a road going tracker from a CR500/Maico/Husquarna' thing out of my head

I know I know and I know how daft and impractical a Cobra would be, and this rain free summer hasn’t helped.

But... there’s something about that V8 burble and the ensuing pant twitch.

I’ve even found myself looking at TVR Griffs and that’s having worked for a specialist litigation firm in London that did the ‘my car just doesn’t work’ Defence work for a now defunct TVR main dealer. Indeed, my boss at the time bought a brand new Griffith and drove it to Italy where it promptly fritzed and permanent locked him out and immobilised itself.

To answer the original question, shooting (stalking only these days)  making pretty well anything - knives were the last thing from memory, previously - fishing, pike or trout, building rods, cycling, walking, fixing cars, building cars, more recently building a custom motorcycle. Not sure what to do next, hopefully another motorcycle - who knows.

If your not sure what to do next I’ve got a group B 205 rally car that needs engine rebuild if your short of something to do. It’s not been out the garage for 6 years.

My next build is putting a Suzuki XF650  Freewind engine into a Tigcraft ex-racer frame to make a superlight road-bike.

I've got all the bits in the loft, just got to wait for the weather to cool so I can sort out the workshop

My job means I can be anywhere in the country from day to day, so my shooting is now curtailed mostly to the game season because weekends are the only time I can guarantee to get anything done or spend time with the family.

Otherwise, I still brew my own beer and mead, still love to cook and  have taken on an allotment.

The Celica awesome car in there day with the Lancia delta,

thats when cars where cars and drivers where drivers,

the sound of them in the Forrest was just awesome.

Will get round to having the engine rebuilt then take her out one more time then give to my boys,

mick the machanic from Congleton as always rebuilt my engines. He built Richard burns 205 when he won the British championship.

A friend and I have been messing with a Tiger Super 6, bought complete but needed bits doing to it, new bushes, windscreen, dash needed rebuilding and electrics.

I wish I had a hobby other than shooting. Or at least one I could enjoy whilst working  in Tokyo. It’s not doing me any good sitting here either working or twiddling my thumbs.

get to a dojo, its called Judo and will change your life.

I’ve been out of the shooting scene for the last 3 years or so, due to a house move and general loss of interest.

Looking into getting back into it, though.

For the last couple of years, i’ve been attending various charity events dressed mostly in plastic :D
