'Chevrotine' shot cartridge

Recommended Posts

Hi

Was reading a chapter in one of Mayle's books on Provence, he mentions local hunters using a Chevrotine shot cartridge to hunt wild boar. When I googled the word it showed shot that was strung on brass wire and 9 items of shot in each cartridge.

Anybody ever come across this? What shot size equivalent is this in the uk?

Cheers

When I started shooting in my early teens I read most of the early books on shooting and reloading.Yes alongside buffering cartridges with plain flour not recamended .i made a cartridge loadad with9 pellets joined together by thread .It was devastating but something I would not recommend in fact highly illegal .Dipper.
