I can well imagine it being more traumatic if someone dies in a road traffic incident being told the hospital is taking organs, but its like giving blood, people expect it to be there if they need it.

I've had a donor card in my car for years and my misses is well aware of my wishes, and donate blood regular.

but i also thought you now had to opt out.

if there's anything left of use when l turn it in they are more than welcome to use it all. ?

I smoke, drink and generally wore out my body when I was younger, by the time I'm dead they are welcome to anything they can have. Only thing I don't ask for is that they leave me in the woods or somesuch to study decomposition. That would really **** me off knowing some rat or fox knawing away on me.

Well,,,the State may be able to re-populate and restructure my beloved country into something I no longer recognise but I'll be jiggered if its getting any of my organs to help it on its way. I'll be opting out !

Well I do hope that you or a family member never finds themselves on the Transplant List.

Ive carried the ‘Card’ since I could first drive and made sure All know my wishes.

But of course it’s your choice.....

i'm sure there's quite a few sick people out there with treatments able to cure them but these treatments are to "expensive",how about sorting these out!

Are you still on about organ donation? Or the NHS in general?

I would hope it would be an easy opt out if you so wished (and children would be opted out until they were 18)

For the record i am on the donor register and it is also attached to my DVLA record and driving licence, i give blood and am also on a few other donor registers

I hope if i ever need it people will be there for me and as such i am more than happy to be for them

Quite. It's got nothing to do with the state, it's about saving people's lives. So yeah, you can opt out of saving someone's life if you want...

Mine and my families thanks go virtually every day to the 18 year old young lady that carried the donor card and enabled me to be part of my children's lives as they grew up over the last 13 years - unless faced with the situation it is hard to explain how you feel when you realise that another persons thoughtfulness and care has given you life, there cannot be a greater gift surely? God Bless her, I only wish I could tell her somehow.

Everyone is entitled to their own wish.

my only question is have you any kids, grand kids, parents, wife etc and if they were dying would you wish them to be saved by a donor ?
