What I am sure you mean is. Don't get it anywhere near FINISHED wood It will strip varnish or ruin an oiled finish.

Not much likelihood though when cleaning barrels.

I agree but don't forget if you are soaking the chokes the Acetone evaporates quickly. If in an open container you are soon left with only ATF
