Just watched a video on YouTube, looks easy enough.

Yes, easy enough to do.

They seem to be far easier to fit and less prone to disaster than the traditional adjustable comb.

As above. I'd like to know what the quality is like.

I recently fitted one to my Tikka t3x.

It's nice quality the mechanism was all aluminium and the cheek piece a similar plastic to the stock.

When it's lowered it fits nicely over the stock with no gaps. It took about 10 minutes to fit.  The t3x has a foam insert in the stock that i had to chop about a bit to make room.

Thanks Wyn. Where did you buy yours from if you don't mind me asking?

I think it was from "livens" i went for them as they were showing it in stock at the time.

I'm sure there were  five or more places in the uk selling them.

I'm pretty sure these are what are fitted to the adjustable stock Tikka's.

I have mine adjusted high'ish for a 2" scope height but this then lets me take the bolt out under the cheek piece without having to move it down.

I want to fit one so that I have a better eye contact with my Pulsar N750a NV scope.

Or you could buy some of this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-mm-KYDEX-T-Sheet-A4-A3-A2-SIZE-Sheath-Holster-Olive-Green-Black-Brown-White-/121514772562?_trksid=p2385738.m4383.l4275.c10&var=420451470197

And make one of these. Obviously you would want to stiffen up the inside of the stock with something; P40 etc, but at a fration of the cost.:good:

Not sounding rude is it not as cheap to buy a second-hand adjustable varmint stock?

Possibly, but I'm happy to pay the price. 😊

I've got, and used the Bear Tooth comb raising kit. Whilst it's okay, I prefer the Kalix Teknik kit.

UPDATE:

I received the kit this afternoon and set out fitting it to my Tikka T3. All was going well, but I drilled the two top holes where the rod's slide down, slightly off centre, so had to open them up a bit to allow them to fit properly. I haven't got a pillar drill, which would have made it a lot easier.

I'm pleased with the result though.
