Had an excellent double gun day, shot 2 rooks at 100ish yards, 1 magpie at 75 with the rimmie and 11 rats with the Wildcat all at 30 yards and 1 wood pigeon at 74 yards, the longest head shot I have ever attempted 😊  I held a mildot high and half mildot for wind, if you look (or enlarge the pic) with the guns the pigeon is just to the right of the rimmie's fore end, the reason I shot it was because I knew it would be retrievable, normally I just don't attempt woodies on the dung pile.

The crow decoys to the right of the orange machine are 88 yards, you might just be able to make out the dead rat that had rolled down into the slurry.

Thanks 😁  yes .22 running at 30 ft lbs, the thing is I have shot hundreds of practice rounds at this spot so know the hold points pretty well, the rimmie will hit a golf ball at 80+ yards with the 2nd shot if not the first and the Wildcat is amazing to at least 60 yards in still air.

indeed ! well beyond any distance i would try

Most of my hunting shots are done off hand so agreed it's not an everyday thing but knowing the hold overs with the solid rests I reckon most people would do OK.
