yickdaz
last sat and sun could only manage a few hrs both days in the afternoon 3pm till 5.30pm both days resulted in a few nice bags of 33 and 35 today 2 of us headed back to one of the fields we shot last sat the birds were flighting to a standing bean field we can't shoot but the flightlines cross over our side of the fence so we flighted them for the 33 mixed bag pigeons crows and a magpie same again today flighting over to the field the beans had been harvested in the week so even stronger flightlines i met up with the old fella and we both parked on a harvested spud field I just got out the car and seen a skien of Canadas heading straight for us so we both hurriedly got the guns out and hid behind one of the vehicles and they came straight over so we took a bird each out of it I had just bought a slab of fiocchi high performance steel 2s to try out and they did the business, after that we split up and got under the pigeon flightlines and had a brilliant few hrs flighting them it was one those scenarios where you knew if you had been on the field they wanted only 100 yards away you would of bagged up but had to make do with high flying birds I say make do I love that kind of shooting final bag was 36 woodies 3 crows 1 jay and 2 Canadas
pigeon controller
As you say Daz a nice mixed bag, taking the opportunity on the geese was classic just getting out of the vehicle.Well done and thanks for reporting.

madmax666
Nice shooting and a good bag, I've seen a load of woodies shot pictured here is there an estimation of how many are shot in an average year nationally it must be huge and only just seems to marginally dent their numbers. Cheers MM

m greeny
Flighting is my cup of tea I would rather get half a dozen or so birds flighting than sat in a hide and bagging a big bag of birds. Well done on your bag a cracking result and the bonus geese were a nice surprise. A fine way to spend time in the country air
marsh man
A unusual mixed bag Daz , one of the beauties of rough shooting , you never know what you are going to end up , a nice bag of pigeons and the bonus of two geese . The goose on the right in the photo look like it is this years bird so it should be tender , lets hope so .
Clodhopper
Lovely bag of birds there. Flighted birds are the cream of pigeon shooting in my opinion. Thanks for posting.
