Goretex Jacket and trouser outfit

Hi looking at treating myself to a goretex jacket and trouser outfit, this will be only used for best so will be used for Deer stalking and driven pheasant shooting.

My question is what brand of clothing would you go for? I originally thought Harkila Pro Hunter X but in the past I've had bad experience with Harkila Forester wellingtons and this has now put me off the brand.

Has anyone got any experience of the Barbour or Musto goretx shooting outfits?

Thanks!

Have had Barbour in the past with no issues.

what about schoffel one of the most popular brands and is now by coat of choice for game shooting.

i don’t think you will go wrong with any of the main players just pick the one that fits and feels the best.

I thought harkila felt too heavy and stiff as a like a lightweight coat to shoot in.

i don’t tend to wear over trousers unless absolutely hammering down as water proof lined plus 4s which stop the rain from going into the wellies

Laksen make some of the best gear out there. I have had one of their jackets for nigh on twenty years now, it is still my go to jacket when the weather is abysmal. Can’t recommend them enough.

My experience is that their shirts are poorly constructed, On the 17.5 inch collar one I have, the cuffs would just about fit the wrists of a 10 year old!
