Sorry but anyone that claims is just milking it.

sell the car  It’s that simple and the car is worth no less than any other year.

The car is not worth the same as the reputation of them is tainted and with poorer performance following the update - anyone who researched the car before buying would see that they are now experiencing issues.

I had difficulty selling mine for the supposed value and had to knock it down.

Also the proposed value of the claim is projected to be approx £2k not half the value of the vehicle.

But allegedly, according to the small print, you are only entitled to make a claim under the sale of goods act if you are the original owner/purchaser. A lot of people who are not the original owner are getting sucked up into believing they are in line for some money.

I agree with compensation, I know of atleast 6 people who had there cars go back after the recall, came back and started having major issues. Once the issues were sorted (out of there pocket) they were extremely under-powered. You look a car, test drive it and like it. You buy it, then a couple of years later you have to take it back and the performance completely changes. You've now got a car that doesn't perform, costs more to run and repair and with a lower resale value as people know what's going on and won't buy it. If I had one, I'd claim

A lot of people who buy all sorts of vehicles routinely take them and have them chipped to improve the performance because they know new cars are detuned in order to meet the emissions regulations. Sometimes the improvement can be significant but the emissions will suffer without a doubt. If you are not happy with VW's extra detuning I would say take it to a performance specialist and get the grunt put back and to blazes with the emissions

NO the germans have cheated our emissions test for the MOT, as the engines will not rev to maximum as required for the test. I know not how they got away with that?😖

A couple of my buddies are claiming and the firm of lawyers they are signed up to are the ones going for half vehicle value. This has been advertised fairly extensively a couple of weeks ago as the deadline date is close.

But if they do get 50% of the vehicle cost as compensation what % of the figure do they snaffle away .....?

Years ago when ppi first came to light and before it came out it was easy for joe public to check & claim my mrs and I signed up with a "law firm" to claim and they took 30%+vat so 50% went to them and by the time they added on their admin charges they ended up with a lot more of OUR MONEY than we got.

a couple of grand more 😵😵😡😡😤😤.

But you learn by your mistakes or so the saying goes .... legal robbery

Strange how the thought of easy money brings out the principled. I buy my vehicles to do a job. Never ask about emissions just can it do what I need.

Would you have bought a new shotgun if it was knowingly sold out of proof? Ah, I see that you would happily have done this and not asked for a refund.

I spent £26,000 of my hard earned cash on a top of the range diesel Yeti, which was knowingly sold to me under a false pretence. The engine was 'fixed' and the performance was never the same. According to some I should heave a large sigh, and then say 'Well that's life...'

Some people claim that they are very forgiving, and just love turning the other cheek.

Would I pay full market price for a 2nd hand 'fixed' VW diesel - well, same may, but they are just plain stupid.
