Ultrastu
Had a great day today. Blew off work to go shoot all day with my mate. First up the woods with the airguns after squirrels and jds. Had a few . Then down onto the open farm land this afternoon with my mates new hmr and me with my. 25 cal fx . First a zero check for the hmr at 100 yds and me at 50 for the airgun .spot on . Then we placed targets from 75 out to 200 to see how the hmr performed for accuracy and impact. . Steel plates. Melons .peppers .and the fave -Coke cans . Mate connected nicely with most targets even out to 200 exploding a can of coke lovely . I hit a couple of cans at 100 yds. Which as the wind dropped was pretty easy .i then tried for a can at 150 yds Found the aim point in chairgun for 150 yds and smashed the can second try. . I then went on to repeat it a couple of times .i then tried a 175 yd can but i had to wind my mag down to 7 x to get a 175 aim point at the bottom of the ret. Which was just too hard to see the can properly .so i gave up on that . But im well chuffed with the fx at 150 yds a can is only about 3 x 4 inches . 15 fpe of energy at 150 is still a lot . Cheers stu.

Mice!
Can't believe you would rather go shooting than work 🤣😂 🤣 I was watching some videos of a Polish guy on YouTube shooting about 130yards i think. 150 yard tins is a proper plinking session
Ultrastu
Cheers guys . Ive been working hard a lot recently. And to have a whole day just to play with my buddy was sooooo needed . We find the "therapy " of gun time is so good for the soul and effective it should be prescribed on the nhs for depression . . I feel refreshed and much happier having been out in the sun all day enjoying and concentrating on a single objective. I cant over play how effective its been. Also my fx is awesome which is nice .😎 Just now, Mice! said: Can't believe you would rather go shooting than work 🤣😂 🤣 I was watching some videos of a Polish guy on YouTube shooting about 130yards i think. 150 yard tins is a proper plinking session Yeah they are and i had to have the mag on 9x to connect. Which makes em pretty small . Sweet when they explode tho . £4 on a 10 pack well spent . 13 minutes ago, Walker570 said: Good fun. Did you log your squirrel kills? Not yet .i slammed him in the boiler room at 30 yds with a 23 fpe .22 . Which did the trick .

Ultrastu
Yes Smooth twist. It has1.5 inches of spin induced at the end .it makes a big .25 cal pellet very stable for long range shooting . My pellet dropped more than 4 ft from zero at 150 yds . Thats one stable pellet . Mice!
How strange? I know the guys on the rapid forum talk about polishing their barrels to take out tight spots and this improves the accuracy, but i wouldn't have expected a smooth bore. Ultrastu
An air gun pellet is inherently stable with the weight at the front and stabilizing skirt at the rear .they dont need a lot of spin .infact too much spin works against accuracy at long range .(75 yds plus ) This is why fx guns win all the long range comps .
