As a life long Captain Frosty I think I have tried most of them but it's the cheap ones in places like B&M that seem to work best - until you tumble dry them. This year I have discovered the Champion padded shirt (around £16 on the Bay) works great with a quilted top - reckon I could sleep in the freezer with this on - bottom's are fleece lined women's leggings ( let the laughter commence) at around a fiver again on the Bay - really warm but ,most likely, not as warm as the heat generated by your red face if you were rushed into A&E.

If you feel the cold treat yourself to a couple of Norgies ;)   I have to wait until it's well below freezing to wear mine coz I sweat my whotsits off otherwise.

Buy them oversized so there's plenty to tuck into your trousers, wear a jumper over the top, and whatever jacket you'd normally wear to keep the breeze off. You'll be warm as toast.
