Coat Rack

I had a few bits of antler that were unsuitable for thumbsticks so put them to good use in making a coat rack.

They were fixed to the wood by epoxying threaded rod into the antler bits and fixed to the wood with recessed nuts and washers at the back. The antler was obviously cut at an angle so the hooks pointed upwards. Not brilliant, I know but I`m pleased with it. It`s a pity that I didn`t have a better piece of wood, something like mahogany, but the pine suits our humble abode.

Very Nice OB:good:.

If I may, probably a bit picky but would some washers at the front between the antler and the wood have helped spread out the downward force, Just a thought as a soaking wet Harris tweed is on the heavy side.

Yes, you`re probably right there, although it`s not too late to add them as nothing is actually epoxied to the wood. Having said that, as I don`t have a Harris tweed coat, the chance of a soaking wet one is pretty remote. The face of the antler bits seem to spread the load fairly well, so for my purpose, it works OK, but I appreciate your comment.
